ABOUT US

Founded in February 2008 by sisters Nichola Kent and Clare Bareham, The Stencil Studio design and cut stencils for home and business. Our fresh approach to stenciling is reflected in our signature collection of large, bold and in-your-face Funky Flowers.

Custom stencil cutting is our speciality, custom requests are often hand cut, allowing The Stencil Studio to offer a truly individual service with no costly laser set up and super quick dispatch. The stencil is a versatile thing, as a means of applying design to almost any surface it's uses are endless, and customers never fail to inspire and amuse us with their creative use of it.

Based at the edge of the Cotswold Hills in beautiful Gloucestershire, England, The Stencil Studio send stencils all over the world, offering a fast, friendly and individual service.

Our aim is simple, to promote stenciling as fun, versatile and contemporary.

We recently moved into new offices in an old mill building near the River Frome, surrounded by trees and wildlife in the heart of the Golden Valley our creative juices now have the space to flow and we can all stretch our legs out without kicking each other!B

MEET THE TEAM

NIKKI KENT - Creative Director

Nikki is co-founder of The Stencil Studio, the only UK stencil business offering a hand cut custom stencil cutting service.  With over 18 years experience in the stencilling industry there is nothing Nikki doesn't know about stencilling.

When not creating and designing stencils Nikki loves socialising with her fiends and is a fabulous cook. She enjoys walking Jazz & Twiglet her dogs and finding great country pubs.

Nikki can always be found on her laptop looking something up on Google. Her most favourite thing in the whole world is Google Earth. She is always researching where in the world she would like to visit next.

CLARE BAREHAM - Technical Director

Clare is the other co-founder of The Stencil Studio and little sister to Nikki.

When not in the office she can be found on the tennis courts. She loves playing tennis with her friends but doesn't seem to get any better no matter how hard she tries. Maybe the new tennis raquet will help!

Clare enjoys socialising with friends and once a month attends her local pub quiz. Her team, "The Dumb Blondes" last won the pub quiz in October 2007, an amazing feat that has not yet been repeated. Luckily her team don't take the quiz seriously, it's just an excuse to get together. 

SALLY TIMPSON - Chief Stencil Cutter

Sally joined The Stencil Studio in July 2009 and soon discovered that stencil cutting is not as easy as it looks! With a little help and guidance she soon got the hang of it and now manages custom stencil quotes and cutting as well as overseeing general production.

When not working Sally loves nothing better than going camping in her teepee with her family, unfortunately you can always guess the weather when Sally has a camping trip planned as it always rains!

She loves animals and has a small 'zoo' of friendly creatures at home to care for including cats, chickens, goldfish, a gecko, and Bart Timpson, the Black Labrador.

SUE WAITE - Master Stencil Cutter

Sue joined The Stencil Studio in April 2009 and loves her role as stencil cutter extraordinaire. When not cutting stencils Sue can be found in the kitchen at home making the most fabulous cakes commissioned for birthdays, weddings and unusual celebrations. Sue is very creative and often comes up with great stencil design ideas.

Sue has two lovely daughters and is always involved in girlie activities with them, she loves the great outdoors and dreams of retiring to Scotland with her family.

JELENA KUKLENKO - Stencil Cutter

Jelena has been with The Stencil Studio for a couple of years and is steadily learning the fine art of stencil cutting, her ultimate aim is to cut the Swirl design without making any mistakes!

Jelena enjoys a busy life away from The Stencil Studio with her husband and 3 boys, she has a lovely house in France and can often be found slurping a bottle of vin rouge on the verandah. She is a keep fit fanatic (by our standards anyway!) and likes to run and do various cardiac challenging activities, she helps out at her boys' schools and is a valued member of The Dark Side pub quiz team, along with Nikki and Sally, who's mission is to beat Clare's Dumb Blondes team at every opportunity.

MARK BAREHAM - Technical Support

Mark is married to Clare. Mark graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a degree in Business Computer Systems and Financial Services, both subjects that The Stencil Studio need a little help with from time to time! His love of all things technical and his extreme patience make him the perfect candidate to keep The Stencil Studio's computer systems up and running.

When not doing technical stuff he enjoys playing golf, football and tennis. He is a loyal fan of Tottenham Hot Spurs and occasionaly gets to see them in action when he attends the odd match.

JAZZ - Mascot

Part Jack Russell, part Shih Tzu, Jazz is a constant companion at The Stencil Studio. The window ledge is her favourite place, allowing for great views over the lawns and a look out post in case the neighbourhood cat should come by. Jazz would like to cut stencils but she doesn't have time!

TWIGLET - New best friend to Jazz

Twiglet or 'The Twig' is only young, she's currently learning the word 'NO', poor Jazz doesn't get a moments peace. The Twigs' job description is simple, to cause chaos and despair at The Stencil Studio whilst displaying enough cuteness to get away with it!
